My Story: A Letter from Dr. Jeanette Wilson
Dear Friend,
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
If you’re exploring care for your pet in this season of life, it means your heart is full of love. That love—quiet, deep, and lifelong—is at the very center of everything I do. My role as a veterinarian is not just to support your pet, but to celebrate the beautiful relationship you’ve built together.
My journey into veterinary hospice care began in 2015, during a home visit with a family and their dog. There was something powerful about the peace, the presence, and the way love filled every corner of that room. In that moment, I knew with absolute clarity that this was my calling: to help families create more of those moments, filled with calm, connection, and gratitude.
Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to providing gentle, relationship-centered veterinary care that honors the bond you share with your pet. My approach is rooted in the belief that comfort and joy go hand-in-hand, and that pets deserve the same warmth and support we would offer any beloved family member.
Along the way, I discovered the power of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). As I explored acupuncture, herbal therapies, food energetics, and tui-na, I saw pets regaining comfort, enthusiasm, and ease. These time-honored practices complement modern medicine beautifully, and they allow us to support the whole pet in the most thoughtful, individualized way.
Why "Happy Earth"?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Earth element is considered the “Mother” of the body. It represents nourishment, stability, and balance. In my experience, when our Earth is supported (when our foundations are tended to) pets feel better. They have more energy. More comfort. More light in their eyes.
“Happy Earth” also speaks to the joy our pets bring into our world. They ground us. They make our lives brighter, sillier, and more meaningful. To me, the name flips the narrative around hospice, from something sorrowful to something sacred.
It’s not about dying; it’s about living well until the very end.
That’s the heart of this practice. I’m not here just to ease suffering, though that’s part of it. I’m here to help you celebrate the bond you’ve built with your pet. I’m here to support the small moments that still matter, the tail wags, the licks, the rumbling purrs of contentment curled up beside you.
With warmth and gratitude,
Dr. Jeanette Wilson
